Product information

Soudal High Yield Fire Rated Gunfoam is a one-component, fire-resistant expanding polyurethane foam filler designed for use in passive fire protection and construction applications. Offering more than 25% greater linear yield than standard Soudafoam FR, it provides excellent thermal and acoustic insulation while expanding approximately 35–40 times its initial volume.

The rapid-curing foam provides excellent primerless adhesion to most common construction materials and is suitable for filling large gaps, sealing joints and installing fire-retardant window and door frames.

BENEFITS

  • High-yield fire-rated polyurethane expanding foam
  • More than 25% greater yield than standard Soudafoam FR
  • Rapid curing
  • Expands approximately 35–40 times its initial volume
  • Excellent thermal and acoustic insulation properties
  • Excellent primerless adhesion to most construction materials
  • Fire resistance of up to 4 hours, depending on joint configuration
  • EN 1366-4 tested for fire resistance
  • EN 13501-2 classified

APPLICATIONS

Ideal for use in passive fire protection systems, including:

  • Large gap filling
  • Installation of fire-retardant window and door frames
  • Sealing expansion joints
  • Sealing connection joints
  • Penetration seals
  • Fire-resistant construction applications
  • Thermal and acoustic insulation

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Shake the aerosol can vigorously for at least 20 seconds before use. Fit the gun securely onto the adapter.

Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from grease and dust. Lightly moisten the surfaces with a water sprayer before application. For non-conventional substrates, a preliminary adhesion test is recommended.

Fill holes and cavities to approximately 65%, allowing sufficient space for the foam to expand. Shake the can regularly during application. When applying in layers, moisten each layer before applying the next.

Fresh, uncured foam can be removed using Soudal Gun & Foam Cleaner or acetone. Always test the cleaner on an inconspicuous area first, as some plastics, painted and lacquered surfaces may be sensitive.

Once cured, the foam can only be removed mechanically or using Soudal PU Remover.

Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and ensure the complete fire protection system is installed in accordance with the relevant fire-rating requirements and joint configuration.
